Creating a Cosmic Identity for the 2019 Australian Body Art Festival
As the creative lead for the Australian Body Art Festival, I was tasked with creating an identity for the 2019 event that would bring the theme "Other Worlds" to life. The challenge was to create a design that was not only visually striking, but also accurately represented the outer space inspired theme and could be applied to a wide range of event materials, from posters and flyers to social media imagery and crew t-shirts. I took this challenge and brought the festival to the cosmos, with vibrant designs featuring alien inspired illustrations. This not only engaged artists and guests, but also made a lasting impression on everyone who attended the festival.
THE CHALLENGE
Designing the event identity for the Australian Body Art Festival 2019 was a unique challenge as the theme of "Other Worlds" required a vibrant and imaginative design that would inspire artists and engage guests. The challenge was to create a design that would not only stand out but also be applied to a wide range of event materials, including posters, flyers, press ads, social media imagery, crew t-shirts, and signage.
THE SOLUTION
To overcome these challenges, I decided to take the identity to outer space with alien-inspired designs. I used a bold color palette and futuristic illustrations to create a visually stimulating and imaginative design that accurately represented the "Other Worlds" theme. By combining these elements with a clean and modern layout, I was able to create a design that was both appealing and easily applied to a wide range of event materials. The result was a successful event identity that brought the "Other Worlds" theme to life and engaged artists and guests alike.
