Balancing History & User Experience
Designing a website for the Eumundi Museum was a complex task as it required not only capturing the rich history of the local area but also showcasing the vast range of exhibitions the museum had to offer. The challenge was to maintain the vintage and earthy tones of the brand while presenting the information in an easily digestible format and making the website user-friendly and easy to navigate for visitors. The solution was to implement a large format grid layout, create clear, concise info blocks, and include page-specific button links for easy navigation. By combining the vintage tones of the brand with a modern design aesthetic, a website was created that accurately represented the Eumundi Museum and its rich history while also making it accessible and engaging for visitors.
THE CHALLENGE
Designing a website for the Eumundi Museum was a complex task as it required not only capturing the rich history of the local area but also showcasing the vast range of exhibitions the museum had to offer. The challenge was to maintain the vintage and earthy tones of the brand while presenting the information in an easily digestible format. Additionally, it was important to make sure the website was user-friendly and easy to navigate for visitors looking for museum location and opening hours.
THE SOLUTION
To overcome these challenges, I implemented a large format grid layout to maximise image sizes and created clear, concise content blocks for each exhibition and display. I also included page-specific button links for easy navigation, making it easy for visitors to find the information they were looking for. By combining the vintage tones of the brand with a modern design aesthetic, I was able to create a website that accurately represented the Eumundi Museum and its rich history while also making it accessible and engaging for visitors.
